Born in Columbia, SC, he was a son of George Dennis and Kay McKenzie Sims. He was of the Baptist faith. Allen was an avid fisherman and animal lover. He enjoyed spending time at the Greenville Gun Club.
Surviving in addition to his parents of Simpsonville are: his brother, William “Bill” (Kristi) Sims of Pelzer, his sister, Ella (Jamie) Barbery of Greenville, and several loving nieces.
Graveside services will be held at 4 P. M. Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Garden of Memories.
The family will receive friends from 3-4 P.M. Saturday at Pruitt Funeral Home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to The Greenville Humane Society, 305 Airport Rd, Greenville, SC 29607 or to The Greenville Animal Shelter, 328 Furman Hall Rd, Greenville, SC 29609.
