Born in Ware Shoals, she was a daughter of the late James and Mary Elledge Cook. She was a member of Ware Shoals First Baptist Church, and worked as a Human Resource Director first for Riegel, then J.C. Penny, and for The Burton Center. She was an avid artist.
Mrs. Beggs is survived by three sons: Donald Lee Beggs of Greenwood, Richard Earl Beggs of the home, and Robin Franklin Beggs and wife Jan of Simpsonville; one brother: Harold Cook of Abbeville; one sister: Jerrie McKee of Greenville; three grandchildren: Catherine Hill, Chloe Whitmore, and Abigail Beggs; and three great-grandchildren: Savannah Hill, Oliver Whitmore and Amelia Whitmore.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, December 17, 2018 at Ware Shoals First Baptist Church with Rev. Leon Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
The family is at the home and will receive friends Monday from 10 – 11 AM at the church prior to the service.
