Born March 17, 1926 in Laurens County, S.C. he was preceded in death by his wife, June Doll Young Sweatt, parents, Charlie M. Sweat and Alice Padgett Sweat and step-mother, Anna Dutton Sweat of Waterloo, S.C., younger brother, Rayford Sweat, and an older brother John Walter Sweat of Greenwood, S.C.
He is survived by son, Charles Donald Sweatt of Honea Path S.C., daughter Geraldine Sweatt of Modesto, CA. and Anna Sweatt of Woodruff S.C., grandson Charles Eric (Kyra) Sweatt of Lake Stevens, WA. and granddaughter Leandra (Tom) Solomon of Pleasant Hill, CA., great-grandchildren Ericka Sweatt and Declan Sweatt of Lake Stevens, WA. and Cutter Solomon of Pleasant Hill, CA.
He was a God-called minister in the Church of God of Prophecy, serving in many places for 68 years. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in WWII.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Ware Shoals Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Robert Trotter, officiating. Burial will follow at Due West Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 1-2 PM at the church, prior to the service.
