Joel attended Lander, Clemson, and Horry-Georgetown Technical College, honing his trade of landscaping, and then followed his dream of being involved with car racing, obtaining a degree from the Nascar Technical Institute in Mooresville, North Carolina.
A landscaper and avid outdoorsman, Joel loved God’s plan for nature in every way: the beauty of a special garden, the magic of an animal roaming the landscape, and the beauty of the sky with a setting sun. He was a sweet and gentle person, with the kindest of souls, who loved people, and was loved in return. Never too busy to help a friend, Joel was always available to assist or provide as needed. He entertained us all with his subtle humor, his engaging smile, the beautiful music which he loved to make, and the strength of his personality. He will be remembered always in our hearts and minds for his ready smile and his kindness and caring for others. Every breath that Joel drew was as beautiful as “Hallelujah.”
