Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Charles Wayne and Willie Mae Davanport Crawford. He was retired from Lone Cane Logging. He was a dedicated father and grandfather as well as an avid outdoorsman, loving hunting, fishing, and gardening.

Surviving are his wife of the home, two sons, Mark Crawford, Jr. (Peggy) of Ware Shoals, and Timothy Crawford (Brandi) of Ware Shoals, a daughter, Jennifer Blakely (Scott) of Ware Shoals, four brothers, Mitchell Crawford of Ware Shoals, Charles and Michael Crawford both of Waterloo, and Tommy Crawford of Greenwood, a sister, Bonnie C. Neal of Waterloo, fourteen grandchildren, Steven, Tyler, Austin, Kelsey and Zoey Crawford, Brycen Willis, Brently Payne, Colton and Emma Crawford, Kelcey and Natalie McAlister, Trent, Kaitlyn, and Tanner Blakley, one great-grandson, Braxton Blakely, two special nephews, Trevor and Bryan Crawford, and a special great-niece, Sophia Crawford. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Steven Wayne Crawford.
