Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late Wade Hampton Sr., and Lillian Cobb Godfrey. She was a lifelong member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was a member and past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Boyd Bobo Chapter #144.
Surviving are a son John William Collins (Patt) and a daughter, Rosemary Ross (Anthony) both of Ware Shoals, eleven grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Jimmy J. Collins, a daughter, Lynn C. Hinton, three brothers, James, George, and Wade, and three sisters, Mamie, Sara, and Rose.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, June 11, 2018 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Ostrom and Rev. Byron Wood officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
