Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late William and Rosa Lee McCoy McGee. He was a member of Barkers Creek Baptist Church and retired from Chiquola Mfg Company. He was a member of Centre Lodge #37 A.F.M. and the Hejaz Shrine Temple.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are: his daughter, Vickie Phillips (Henry) of Honea Path, two step daughters, Patricia Fleming of Donalds and Tammie Dyar (Dean) of Belton, one brother, Hub McGee of Honea Path, three sisters, Judy Hanks and Sharon Phillips both of Belton, Dorothy Whitt of Anderson, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Mr. McGee was preceded in death two brothers Charles and Herman McGee.
Funeral services will be held at2 P.M. Friday, May 18, 2018 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wesley Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Barkers Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family is the home and will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at the Pruitt Funeral Home prior to the service.
