Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Horace Harvey, Sr. and Mattie Bowick McKee. He was a member of the Ware Shoals United Methodist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, World War II. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina, a Registered Pharmacist and retired owner of Park Pharmacy. He was a longtime supporter of the Ware Shoals Boy Scouts Troop 902.
Surviving are two sons, Tim McKee and wife Doris of Rock Hill and Mark McKee and wife Sherry of Hodges, a sister, Dot Jeans of Ware Shoals, ten grandchildren, Todd McKee, Sam McKee (Toni), Tara McKee, Aaron McKee, Brent McKee, Ceanna McKee, Holly Taylor (Brandon), Monica McKee and finance Donnie, Margo Powell (Daniel), and Matthew McKee, seven great-grandchildren, Alissa Taylor, Alex Taylor, Grace McKee, Faith McKee, Eve McKee, Erin Powell, and LaLa Powell. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Herman McKee and two sisters, Thelma Griffin and Hazel Peevler.
Memorial services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Ware Shoals United Methodist Church with Pastor Bill Rogers officiating.
