Born in Ware Shoals, he was a son of the late Robert Belton and Maude Handback Butler. He was of the Church of God faith and was a retired maintenance technician with BASF Corp. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are two sons, Kenneth Edward Butler (Barbara) of Waterloo and Ronnie Dale Butler of Ware Shoals, seven brothers, Raymond Butler of Laurens, Calvin, Donnie, Eddie, Pete, Frankie and Freddy Butler, all of Atlanta, three sisters, Donna Bond, Brenda Long and Lucy Harris, all of Atlanta, five Grandchildren and five Great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, Allan and Robert Butler and two sisters, Marie Burton and Elise Wooten.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Parker-White Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Boggs officiating. Burial will follow in Oakbrook Memorial Park.
