Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Willie and Jessie Gambrell Lollis. He was of the Baptist faith, and was retired from his work at C. W. Murphy Ford. He was thrice married, first to the late Gladys Bryant Lollis, and secondly to the late Peggy Jo Lollis. He loved gardening, and being outdoors, and was always eager to assist his neighbors in any way he could.
In addition to his wife of the home, Mr. Lollis is survived by two sons: Roger Lollis and Don Lollis (Samantha) of Honea Path; a step-son, Rickey Fields of Honea Path, five daughters: April Brown of Honea Path, Susie Devore (Dale) of Honea Path, Rita Lollis of Anderson, Shirley Young of Belton, and Mary Lollis of Belton; a step-daughter, Patty Bordelon of Belton, four brothers: Johnny Lollis of Honea Path, O. E. Lollis of Honea Path, Jimmy Lollis of Elberton, GA, and Luther Lollis of Honea Path, two sisters: Margaret Elmore of Honea Path and Evelyn Roark of Starr; a grandson raised in the home: Ryan Lollis of Anderson, twenty-two grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Melvin, Jerry, and Clarence Lollis; and two sisters: Nellie Ree Lollis and Lois Campbell.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Howell officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at Pruitt Funeral Home.
