Born in Ninety Six, he was the son of the late Andrew L. and Margaret Fox Son. He was a member of Broadmouth Baptist Church, and worked in construction. He served in both the U. S. Army and the Army National Guard, and was a member of Centre Lodge #37 A.F.M.
Surviving are three daughters: Tammy Gymer (Mark) of Honea Path, Cynthia Horne (Anthony) of Aiken and Angela Florida (Jimmy) of Edgefield; two sisters: Elaine Son Bagwell and Earlene Son; nine grandchildren and twenty-one and a half great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Broadmouth Baptist Church with Rev. Justin Phillips, Rev. T.W. McGuffin, and Rev. Gene Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 - 3 PM Sunday at the church prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Broadmouth Church Building fund, 548 Broadmouth Church Road, Honea Path, SC 29654.
