Born in Ware Shoals, he was a son of the late Garl Columbus and Mackie Blackwell Malone. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of West Main Street Church of God where he served in many capacities over the years. Hack took great pride in his work as church custodian. He took on the role of part-time custodian, until they could find someone full time, 23 years ago. He was a faithful blood donor, having given at last count, 24 gallons of blood. He also regularly donated blood platelets for many years. Hack was an avid and dedicated Atlanta Braves fan, having attended more than 200 games. Hack dearly loved his family and helping people in any way he could. He was a true servant of God, his fellow man, and his community.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 65 years of the home are: two sons, Rabbi William (Kathy) Malone of Colorado Springs CO., and Wade Malone of Ware Shoals, his daughter, Wendy (Joe) McCall of Ware Shoals, a brother, Jack (Sandi) Malone of Lyman, a sister, Nancy Emerson of Lincolnton, NC, five grandchildren, Blake (Aly) Malone, Katie (Collin) Weeks, Patrick Malone, Meaghan (Lee) Weaver and Caleb McCall and two great-grandchildren, Evie Malone and Natalee Weaver, due in October.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, Ditts, Bobby Joe and James Malone, and two sisters, Billie Sue Fleming and Edna McNeil.
Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Monday, August 14, 2017 at West Main St. Church of God with Rev. Mac Jones, Rev. Leon Jones and Rev. John Tyson officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends from 2-3 P.M. Monday at the church prior to the service.
