Born in Barry County, Mo. he was a son of the late Monroe Melvin and Clarice Hazel Frost Stumpff. He was a member of the Upstate Church of Christ of Anderson, and was a U.S. Army Veteran of 23 years, having served in the Vietnam War as a pilot. Later in life he worked as a funeral director.
Mr. Stumpff is survived by three sons, David Lynn Sumpff (Debra Wilder Stumpff) of Anderson, Stephen Glenn Stumpff of Warner Robbins, Ga., and James Owen Stumpff (Amy Tyner Stumpff) of Honea Path, seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Dorothy Bouchard.
The famiy will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday at Pruitt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held in Clio Missouri at a later date.
