Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of the late Butler “Buck” and Mary Edna May Koon. He was a member of Ware Shoals First Presbyterian Church and was retired from Michelin after 32 years. He was a veteran of the South Carolina Army National Guard. Terry worked at Riegel Textile Corporation for many years and was formerly a member of the Ware Shoals Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cooking. Terry was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 49 years of the home are: two daughters, Tina Koon Stewart of Donalds and Lynn Koon of Ware Shoals, special “adopted” son, Hamilton “Ham” Powell, three grandchildren, Kaytee Simmons, Savanna Logan and Preston Logan, special friends, the Gene McAllister family, and his faithful companion Trixie. He was predeceased by two brothers, Ronnie and Harold Koon.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Parker-White Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Wicker and Rev. Byron Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Ware Shoals Cemetery.

The family is at the home of his daughter, Lynn, 37 Green Acres Drive, Ware Shoals, and will receive friends from 1-2 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.
