Born in Anderson, he was a son of the late James Charlie and Vera Woods Lusk. He was a member of Honea Path First Baptist Church for over 40 years where he served as Deacon, Sunday School Director, Choir Member, and member of “Highest Praise”. He was a 1966 graduate of Dixie High School and a 1969 graduate of Erskine College. He received his Doctorate from Clemson University.  Dr. Lusk served Anderson District #2 for 30 years and retired as Assistant Principal of BHP High School in 1999.  He also served as a member of the Board of Trustees of Anderson District #2 for 12 years. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of Anderson University where he served as Chairman for 8 years. Dr. Lusk served in the South Carolina Army National Guard, Ware Shoals Signal Corps for 9 years.

Surviving are his wife of the home, a daughter, Shannon Watson of Honea Path, and two grandsons, Slade and Jase Watson.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday, June 4, 2017 at the Honea Path First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Moody and Dr. Evans Whitaker officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories, Belton.

The family is at the home of his daughter, 206 Meadow Ct., Honea Path, and will receive friends from 5 to 8 P.M. on Saturday at the Honea Path First Baptist Church.  Memorials may be made to the Honea Path First Baptist Church, 100 S.
