Born in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Robert Lee and Bessie Mae Wells Weathers. Earl was a member of West Main Street Church of God where he was a member of the Men’s Bible Class and played the guitar for services. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He worked at Riegel Textile Corp. for 27 years and retired from Bonitz.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife of the home are: his son, Ronnie (Daphne) Weathers, his daughter, Patti Chapman, two brothers, Horace Edward and Jessie Lee, four sisters, Mildred, Pauline, Madell and Betty, four grandchildren, Jeffrey and Lindsey Weathers, Kim (Judd) Ledet, and Clay (Laura) Chapman, and three great-grandchildren, Greyson and Chase Chapman and Emma Ledet.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Parker-White Funeral Home with Rev. John Tyson officiating. Private burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
