Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late John Frank and Lillie Roark Davis. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Army Reserves. Mr. Davis was employed by the US Postal Service with over 40 years of service. He was retired from the Ware Shoals Post Office after serving 13 years as Postmaster.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 46 years of the home are: his son, Matt (Dawn) Davis of Anderson, his daughter, Julie (Matt) Brock of Honea Path, four brothers, Billy Davis, James (Peggy) Davis, John (Lula Mae) Davis, and Ronald Davis, all of Honea Path, two sisters, Linda (Danny) Brooks and Susan Smith, all of Honea Path, a sister-in- law, Faye Davis of Honea Path, and three grandchildren, Dylan Brock, Devin Brock, and Carson Jewel Davis. He was predeceased by a brother, Lloyd Davis.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Dyar, Dr. Ron Culbertson, and Rev. Archie Sharpe officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM at Pruitt Funeral Home. The family is at their respective homes.
