Born in Union County, she was a daughter of the late James Leonard and Trula Mae Valentine Walker Gibson. She was a member of Honea Path Pentecostal Holiness Church and retired from Medline. Nellie truly loved her church and family.
Surviving are: her son, Phillip Oscar McGaha of the home, two daughters, Jan Compton of the home and LeeAnn (Brian) Brock of Honea Path, a brother, Michael (Donna) Walker of Greenwood, her sister, Lenora (Hank) Medlin of Hodges, seven grandchildren, Brandon, Brandie, Stephanie, Savannah, Donovan, Dreama, and Lesley, and six great-grandchildren, Kade, Brody, Addison, Kyley, Delilah, and Michael.
She was predeceased by step-father, Guy Gibson, her brother, James Walker, and her son-in-law, Steve Compton.
Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Honea Path Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Shane Elrod officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories.
The family is at the home and will receive friends at the church from 1:30 – 3 P.M. Sunday at the church prior to the service.
