Nell Hodges

Hodges – Mrs. Nell O’Dell Price Hodges, 103, widow of Blease Hodges, of 1011 E. Grumbling Rd. died Friday, September 30, 2016 in Gray Court.

Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late John Green and Rachel Ida Lorena O’Dell Price. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church for over 60 years and 1932 graduate of Greenwood High School. She was retired from Self Memorial Hospital as a nurses aid.

Surviving are three sons, Henry Hodges of Hodges, Philip Hodges (Shirley) of Hodges, and Bill Hodges (Marquerite) of Lexington, a daughter Becky Kirkland (Jerry) of Gray Court, thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. She was the last member of her immediate family and in addition to her husband and parents, she was pre-deceased by three brothers, Clyde, Rufus, and Henry Price, and two sisters, Laura Luker and Sybil Price.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Monday at Parker-White Funeral Home Chapel in Ware Shoals with Rev. Ryan Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 Monday at Parker-White Funeral Home prior to the service.
