Born in Anderson County, he was a son of Annie Sybil McMillian Chastain and the late Guy Chastain. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and was retired from Cryovac of Simpsonville.
Surviving in addition to his mother of Pelzer are: his daughter, Blanche Anette Chastain of Belton, two brothers, Garvin and Danny Chastain both of Pelzer, and two sisters, Carolyn Burns of Greenville and Peggy Outz of Pelzer.
Memorial services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Friendship Baptist Church, Honea Path with Rev. Brian Scruggs officiating.
