Born in Lyons, GA, she was a daughter of the late Alex and Pinkie Mitchum Findley. She graduated from Lyons County High School in 1940. Mrs. Freeman was a member of Ware Shoals First Baptist Church and the Dorcas Sunday School class. She was employed by Riegel Textile Corp. and Lilly’s Flower Shop in Ware Shoals.
Surviving are: three daughters, Ozine (Asa) Hemperley of Jensen Beach FL, Janis (Frank) Dansby of Abbeville and Tenia (Donald) Coggin of Young Harris GA, three sisters, Dorothy Anderson of Hodges, Eloise Findley and June Smith, both of Ware Shoals, three grandchildren, Heather Dansby, Justin (Paige) Dansby and Katie (Jesse) Hillis, a great-grandchild, Payton Rogers and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, L.P. and Hollis Findley, and two sisters, Joanne McWhorter and Lois Bifano.
Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Parker-White Funeral Home with Rev. Leon Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Asa Hemperley, Frank Dansby, Donald Coggin, Justin Dansby, Jesse Hillis, Payton Rogers and Mike McWhorter.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Dorcas Sunday School Class.
