Born in Anderson County on June 10, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Francis M. (Frank) Branyon, Sr. and Ethel Mabry (Mae) Pruitt Branyon. She was a supervisor at Maxon Shirt Plant in Greenville for several years. Betty was a faithful caregiver to members of her family. As a member of Barker’s Creek Baptist Church, she enjoyed her Sunday School class, singing in the choir and taking trips with the Keenagers. Betty was known for her orange pound cake, her homemade sourdough bread everyone called “Betty’s Bread”, her card ministry, her homemade vanilla ice cream, and her sharp wit.

She is survived by nieces Linda Martin and Karen Roberts of Honea Path, SC; Sharon Ekaitis of Belton, SC; nephews Bobby (Angie) Branyon and Bud Branyon of Honea Path, SC; great-niece Christy Branyon of Anderson, SC; great-nephews Robby Branyon of Anderson, SC; Jason Martin of Donalds, SC; Brandon (Leah) Martin and Cory Roberts of Honea Path, SC; Derek Ekaitis of Belton, SC; great-great niece Kaelyn Branyon of Anderson, SC; great-great nephews Gavin and Brody Branyon of Townville, SC; cousins Bobbie Branyon of Greenville, SC; and Nancy Alley of Honea Path, SC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Francis M. (Mick) Branyon, Jr. and sisters Mary C. (Pat) Beeks and Florence E. Branyon.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Barker’s Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Wesley Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family is at the home and will receive friends from 2-4 PM Sunday at the church, prior to the service.
