Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late William Cleveland and Nellie Bible Cogdill. Margie was a homemaker, and a loving and sacrificing mother and wife. She was a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church, and spent her life ministering to others in her church family and neighborhood, providing meals for them.
Surviving are two sons, Tommy Rodger King of the home, James Franklin King (June) of Laurens; three daughters, Donice Carole King Riser (Scott) of Newberry, Linda Kaye King Sizemore (Doug) of Honea Path, Jackie King Simmons (Ron) of Greenwood; a brother, Michael Cogdill; four sisters, Ruth Cox, Imogene Cox, Trudy Wilson, Ann Bryant; five grandchildren, Travis Riser (Christy), Leslie Hayes (Stephen), Adam Sizemore (Jennifer), Elizabeth Butters (Bob), Brent King (Meaghan); and eight great-grandchildren.
Margie was predeceased by a son William Lawrence King, five brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held 3 P.M. Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Parker-White Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Frank Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Rabon Creek Church cemetery.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends from 1:30-3 P.M. prior to service at Parker-White Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care of the Piedmont, 408 W.
