Born in Kewaunee, WI, he was a son of the late Ben Sticka, Sr. and Mary Wiesner Sticka. Ben was a member of the Honea Path Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in WWII, stateside at Miami Beach and also in Bad Mergentheim, Germany. He was retired from the Department of the Navy, where he worked in civil service as a supervisor. After his retirement, he moved to Honea Path and worked restoring antique furniture for 25 years.
Surviving are a daughter, Susan Sticka Ehrhard of the home and husband D.J. who was his constant caregiver, a nephew, Everett Stika and several great nieces and nephews, two grandchildren, Niko Rozakos (Nikki) of Anderson, Victoria Ehrhard of the home and one great-grandchild, Sophia Rozakos, and special family members Michael and Cindi Wood, Skye Lowrey, and Spero Rozakos. Ben was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the doctors, nurses and technicians on the 5th floor at AnMed Health Medical Center, Honea Path EMS, Health Related Home Care and AnMed Health Honea Path for their special care.
