Born in Winston Salem, NC, he was the son of the late Cornelius Covert Haitz and Thelma May Saunders Haitz. He was a member of the First Moravian Church, Greensboro, NC and was retired from King-Hunter Construction Co. He was a retired Veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean conflict and retired with the rank of Lt. Colonel.
He is survived by a one son, Robert Haitz of Honea Path. He was predeceased by two sons, Richard S. Haitz and James Neil Haitz and one daughter, Catherine.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Home Moravian Church Cemetery, Winston Salem, NC.
