Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late A.P. and Carolyn Pettigrew Threlkeld. He was a member of Carswell Baptist Church of Iva and was a trade specialist with the SCDOT for nineteen years. He was also a Veteran of the U S Army having served in Germany during the Vietnam War.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 48 years are: two daughters, Stephanie Diane Threlkeld of the home and Tracy Harbin (Tim) of Anderson; one sister, Lynn Threlkeld Slight of California and one grandchild, Amber C. Harbin.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Saturday at Asaville Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Moon and Rev. Drew Martin officiating. Burial with military honors to follow in the church cemetery.
The family is at the home and will receive friends from 10-12 prior to the service.
