Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Clifton Clinton and Mary Livingston Chapman. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and retired from Riegel Textile Corp. She was twice married, first to the late Billy Sunday Cothran.
Surviving are: her son, Billy Wayne (Jackie) Cothran of Ware Shoals, her daughter, Sandra (Woody) Bigby of Honea Path, a brother, Clarence “Bud” (Sarah) Chapman of Ware Shoals, six grandchildren, Chris (Beth) Cothran, Dana (Scott) Horne, Paula (Bobby) Clarke, Lori (David) Burton, Hope Cohen, and Woody (Melissa) Bigby, III, and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister, Louise Postell.
She is also survived by her second husband, the late J.P. Abrams, children, Joe, David, Johnny Abrams, and predeceased by his son, Clarence Abrams.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Marcus Bishop and Rev. Dr. Bruce Ostrum officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends Sunday 2-3 p.m. prior to the service at the church. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Memorials may be made to Poplar Springs Baptist Church or to the Mt Gallagher Baptist Church Building Fund.
