Doris Bagwell Pitts

Ware Shoals – Doris Bagwell Pitts, 85, widow of Walter Leroy Pitts, of 12 Smith Street, died Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Hospice Care of the Piedmont.

Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Arthur V. and Bertie Stone Bagwell. She a member of Fork Shoals Baptist Church and retired from Riechem-Mt Vernon.  She was a member of the Riegel Quarter Century Club. Mrs. Pitts graduated as valedictorian from Fork Shoals High School, Class of 1947.

Surviving are: one son, Don Pitts of Ware Shoals, one daughter, Ann Clamp of Ware Shoals, a daughter-in-law, Jenny Pitts of Ware Shoals, one brother, Eddie Bagwell of Anderson, two sisters, Evelyn Stone and Betty Woodson, both of Pelzer, five grandchildren, Jeremy Clamp, Kelley Calvert, Ashley Kirby, Mike Pitts and David Pitts and seven great-grandchildren, Will Calvert, Jake Calvert, Alyssa Calvert, Kaitlyn Quarles, Sienna Quarles, Rowan Pitts, and Hunter Kirby.  She was predeceased by a son, Mike Pitts, two brothers, A.V. Bagwell and Bill Bagwell, two sisters, Edna Davis and Mary Stelling, and one great grandson, Erik Quarles.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Parker-White Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Wicker officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

The family is at the home and will receive friends 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to The Erik Quarles T-Ball League at Mt Gallagher Baptist Church, 11828 India Mound Rd, Ware Shoals, SC 29692.
