Born in Aiken County, she was a daughter of the late Lee, Sr. and Mamie Whitt Cothran. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and was retired from First Citizens Bank of Ware Shoals.
Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are a daughter, Wanda Coker and husband Maurice of Easley, a brother, Rev. Lee Cothran, Jr. of Lexington, four sisters, Nancy Daniel of Hodges, Olive Davis of Waterloo, Patsy Abrams of Ware Shoals, and Vivian McClellan of Ware Shoals, two grandchildren, Chris Coker and wife Melissa of Easley and Jonathan Coker of Atlanta, Ga., and a great-grandchild, Kaiden Coker.
She was pre-deceased by three brothers, Joseph E. Cothran, Otis Cothran, and Charles Alton Cothran, and two sisters, Lurleen Hellams and Betty Elledge.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday, March 28, 2016 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Bruce Ostrom and Rev. Lee Cothran, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
The family is at the home and will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 P.M. Monday at Poplar Springs Baptist Church prior to the service.
