Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late John Acey and Brucie Helen Kellett Pitts. She was a member of the Ware Shoals First Presbyterian Church and was retired from the Mecklenburg County School System.
Surviving are her husband of the home, a daughter-in-law, Lisa R. Smith of Clover and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a son Jackie W. Smith, three brothers, Leroy Pitts, John Pitts, and William Pitts, and six sisters, Margaret Harrie, Ruth Allen, Pearl Brown, Lucille Bray, Lizzie Medlin, and Nettie Pitts.
Memorial services will be held at 11 am Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Ware Shoals First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Wayne Wicker officiating.
