Anderson - Longtime Anderson resident Mary Elaine Shirley Stanley passed away January 13th, 2016, at age 57. She was both a Clemson graduate and avid fan. Born in Anderson to Mary Edith Fleming Shirley and the late William Bruce Shirley, Sr., Mary graduated from Belton Honea Path High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering, Summa Cum Laude from Clemson University.

 

While at Clemson, she met and married the love of her life, Kenneth Reece Stanley, Jr. Together they have two daughters Aaron Elaine Smith of Beaufort and Kathryn Stanley Harris of Powdersville, and three grandchildren Shannon Joseph Stanley, Sarah Grace Smith, and Zayden Reece Harris. She also is survived by two sons-in-law, O’Bryant Harris and Brandon Smith and her brother William Bruce Shirley, Jr. of Honea Path.

Mary enjoyed being an amazing wife, mother, and friend who untiringly served all with her whole heart. As a Christian, she loved Jesus. Mary worked as a CNC Programmer and Engineer at Sargent Metal in Anderson.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 17 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steve Silvey officiating. Burial will follow at Roberts Cemetery in Anderson.
