Born in GreenwoodCounty, he was the son of Mamie Leona Whitten Tippitt and the late Talmadge Woodrow Prince. He was a member of CalvaryBaptistChurch and was a US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was retired from O’Dell Mop and Broom and had formerly worked at Richloom in Ware Shoals for 18 years. Jimmy was Director of the Upstate S.C. chapter of Vintage Chevrolet Club of America and was a member of the Rock and Roll Cruisers Car Club.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife of the home are: his mother of Hodges, two daughters, Sherry Newton (Rick) and Christy (Russ) Bowen, all of Greenwood, two sons, Steven (Alli) Lowie, Jr. of Tampa FL, and Joshua (Chely) Lowie of Chappells, four sisters, Ann Parker of Hodges, Elaine Lewis of Bluffton, Diane McGee of Ware Shoals, and Irene Freeman of Greenwood, twelve grandchildren, Jessica, Chelsea, Kaitlyn, Ace, and Julia Lowie, Zully and Kevin Corona, Hannah Prince, Noah and Leah Newton, Eli Bailey and Layla Bowen.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at CalvaryBaptistChurch with Rev. Dr. Hans Wunch, Rev. Mark Lowe, and Rev. Chuck Sprouse officiating. Entombment with Military Honors will follow in OakbrookMemorial Park.
