Barbara Rodal

Honea Path – Barbara Jean Mackey Rodal, 81, wife of Jack Rodal, of 161 Latimer Mill Rd., died September 19, 2015 at her home.

Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late George Mackey and Inez Garrett Mackey. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church of Mauldin. Mrs. Rodal retired after thirty years from Greenville County Schools, having served as an English teacher and Library Media specialist at Woodmont High School. She held numerous offices during her membership in the Delta chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International, an educational honor society. Barbara has traveled the world with family and friends, and her home was always open to people in need.

Surviving in addition to her husband of sixty years are one son: Russell Scott Rodal of Marietta, Ga.; one daughter: Raina Rodal Scoggins of Powell, TN.; one brother-in-law: Lloyd Arnold; two sisters-in-law: Georgia Riley Mackey and Maribeth Rodal Kibbey; one grandson: Thomas Pilgrim; and eighteen nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Rodal was preceded in death by five brothers: J.C., Clyde, Howard, Bill, and Raymond Mackey; and one sister: Bernice Mackey Hollingsworth.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 26 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Mauldin with Pastor Glenn Boland officiating.
