Bobby Ray McClain

Honea Path – Bobby Ray “Chicken Wing” McClain, 83, widower of Betty Ruth Bowman McClain, of 2 Kay Street, died Friday, September 18, 2015 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.

Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Cowan and Lois McGaha McClain. He was a member of the Honea Path Church of God. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Korean War, retired from Flour Daniels, Monsanto, and was an avid fisherman.

Surviving are a daughter, Ann Creel of Honea Path, three grandchildren, Brain, Brad, and Barry Creel, all of Honea Path, seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Bill McClain, three sisters, Jessie Mae Holder, Marie Free Keisler, and Ruby Sullivan, and a grandson, Bruce Lee Creel.

Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Monday at the Garden of Memories with Rev. Billy Slatten and Rev. Chris Jarrard officiating.

The family is at the home of his daughter, Ann Creel, 347 East Hampton Ave. and will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Monday at Pruitt Funeral Home prior to the service.
