Born in AndersonCounty, he was a member of WareShoalsPentecostalHolinessChurch and was retired from Fluor Daniel. Gerald was a train enthusiast and loved his pet fish.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 46 years of the home are: two sons, Jesse (Deborah) James of Due West and Mark James of Simpsonville, a daughter, Dawn (Thomas) Williams of Easley, two sisters, Peggy (Michael) Varnum of Ware Shoals and Loretta (Terry) Lewis of Anderson, and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Larry James.
