Born in PickensCounty, he was a son of the late Wilkie Sylvester and Maudie Etheleen Galloway McCall. He was a member of BroadmouthBaptistChurch and a US Army veteran. He formerly worked at Reigel Textiles, but spent most of his life as a farmer. Mr. McCall had a strong faith and was a loving family man.
Surviving are: two sons, Michael Lester (Rene’) McCall of Honea Path and Lester G (Laurie) McCall, Jr, of Belton, two daughters, Diane McCall (David) Bowen of Belton and Teresa McCall (Phillip) McCoy of Anderson, a brother, William “Bill” (Linda) McCall of Honea Path, four sisters, Exie McClain of Honea Path, Lila Carr of Columbia, Flora McCall and Rebecca McCoy, both of Honea Path, twelve grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, and his longtime companion and friend, Marion Banks.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lena Ruth Mattison McCall, a son, William Charlton McCall, a brother, James McCall, and a sister, Lola Meadows
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2015 at BroadmouthBaptistChurch with Rev. Justin Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
