Born in Abbeville County, she was the eldest daughter of the late Floyd and Fannie Smith Brock. She was a lifelong member of Keowee Baptist Church, and a member of the Eunice Ricketts Sunday School class, and a homemaker.

Mrs. Mitchell is survived by two daughters, Geraldine M. Bratcher of Charleston, and Janice M. Brock and husband Ron of Honea Path, a brother, Robert Brock of Honea Path, a granddaughter, Lenna S. Kirchner and husband Jesse and two great-grandchildren, Clara and Colin Kirchner, all of Charleston, and many nieces and nephews, along with their children.

She was predeceased by five brothers, Lonnie, John, Otto, Frank, and Leo Brock, and three sisters, Dora Brock, Nora B. Williams, and Eva B. Ashley.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Keowee Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Lee and Rev. Richard Ashley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family is at the home and will reiceve friends from 1-2 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
