Loyd Brissey

Ware Shoals – Loyd Anderson Brissey, 86, widower of Bessie Simpson Brissey, of 131 Forget-Me-Not Drive, and formerly a longtime resident of 124 Harbin Rd. Westminster, died Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Laurens County Memorial Hospital.

Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Lee Oliver and Ressie Fuller Brissey. He attended Ware Shoals Church of God of Prophecy, and was retired from J.P. Stevens and Co. in Clemson.

Mr. Brissey is survived by three sons: Jimmy Brissey and wife Brenda of Waterloo, Jerry Brissey and wife Sheila of Ware Shoals, and Johnny Brissey and wife Lisa of Buford, GA; one daughter: Debbie Getz of Greenville; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: William and Levi Brissey; four sisters: Janie Brissey, Myrtle Bowen, Jessie Sanders, and Martha Brissey; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Robert Brissey, Rev. Sheila Brissey, and Rev. Susan Allen officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday at Gap Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Six Mile.
