Honea Path – James Maxie Phillips, 66, of 325 Hawthorne Rd, died Friday, January 23, 2015 at his home.
Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of Lilly Campbell Phillips and the late James Marvin Phillips. He was a member of Broadmouth Baptist Church and retired from Michelin of Greenville.
Surviving in addition to his mother of Honea Path are: four sons, James Maxie (Julie) Phillips of Bogue Chitto MS, Ben (Nikki) Taylor, Daniel Taylor, and Adam “Butterbean” Kelly, all of Belton, a daughter, Janie (Barry) Hughes of Honea Path, two brothers, Dale (Janice) Phillips and Donnie Phillips, all of Honea Path, two sisters, Ruth (Bobby) Davis of Honea Path and Allie Hill of Donalds, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Broadmouth Baptist Church with Rev. Justin Phillips officiating.
The family is at the home of his sister, 4039 E. Greer St, Honea Path, and will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at the church prior to the service.
