Born in Abbeville County he was a son of the late Alonzo and Ella McClellan Williamson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, and was retired from Real Estate and Auto Sales.

Surviving are a son, James E. (Chick Jr.) Williamson, Jr. and wife Peggy of North Augusta, SC; a sister, Sybil Jones of Greenwood, SC; two grandsons, Michael (Katie) Williamson of Corona Del Mar, CA, and Paul (Joann) Williamson of North Augusta, SC; and four great-grandchildren, Brice, Abbey, Jack, and Brady Williamson. He was pre-deceased by two sisters, Thelma Michael and Lucille Hicks.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Parker-White Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Lowe officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
