Cheraw – J. Herbert Foster, 84, husband of Mabel Coggins Foster, of 102 Patterson St. died Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at his home.
Born in Spartanburg County, he was a son of the late James J. and Lucy Zimmerman Foster. He was a member of Cheraw First United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Korean War. He was retired as City Executive with Carolina Bank of Cheraw, was former Chairman of the Board of the Chesterfield General Hospital, and a former member of the Chesterfield County Board of Disabilities.
Surviving are his wife of the home, and a son, Jeffrey Lee Foster of the home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday, November 28th at Cheraw First United Methodist Church with Dr. Kurt McPherson, Rev. Ed Davidson and Rev. David Townsend officiating. A private family burial will follow on Saturday.
