Ware Shoals – Sarah Jean Rainwater Cooper, 82, widow of Grady Miller Cooper, of 30 N. Greenwood Ave. Ext, died Monday, October 13, 2014 at Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Spartanburg County, she was a daughter of the late Paul Alan and Sarah Elizabeth Eledge Rainwater. She was a member of Hodges Church of God and was a member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Cooper attended Piedmont Technical College where she was awarded a Diploma in Business. She retired from Chiquola Mills and had worked as a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant for many years. She also enjoyed being a Bilo Hostess.
Surviving are: a son, Bruce (Phyllis) Brewster of Greenwood, three daughters, Louise (Gerald) Partridge of Honea Path, Laverne Creel and Christine Sipe, both of Hodges, a sister, Eulala Wright of Boling Springs, eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five brothers and six sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday October 16, 2014 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Tommy Sawyer officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
