Roger Hawkins, Sr.

Ware Shoals – Roger Dale Hawkins, Sr., 67, of 6000 Hwy 252, died Friday, August 15, 2014 at his home.

Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of the late Sloan Edward and Catherine O’Dell Hawkins. He was of the Baptist faith and formerly employed by Grimes Aerospace.

Surviving are: two sons, Roger Hawkins, Jr and John Hawkins, both of FL, two daughters, Kelly (Corey) Benton of Hartsville and Patti (Mike) Jennings of FL, a brother, Ken (Jane) Hawkins of Ware Shoals, a sister, Vivian Barnes of Greenville, and four grandchildren, Cayson Benton, Jason and Summer Hawkins, and Alexandria Jennings. He was predeceased by a brother, Bobby Hawkins.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Turkey Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Rutland officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
