Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late Sloan Alan and Annie Kate Wilson Darby. She attended Honea Path Church of God of Prophecy and was a homemaker.

Surviving are: three sons, Wallace (Margaret) McCuen, Jimmy (Polly) McCuen, Stanley (Shelby) McCuen all of Honea Path; a brother, James Thurston Darby of Greensboro, NC.; four sisters, Clarice Kay and Wilma Lusk both of Honea Path, Annie Haynie of Belton, and Alice Faye Darby of the home; ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Lamar McCuen and two sisters, Clelia Cannon and Thelma Davis.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Crocker and Rev. Andrew Overby officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.
