Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Wister and Nora Paige Motes. She was retired from Oxford Shirtmakers and was a homemaker. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving are one daughter; Patsy Gambrell of Belton (Danny Ray Butler), grandchildren; Ryan Gambrell (Ami) of Honea Path, Allison Strickland (Chris) of Belton, Dylan Young (Selena) of Lizella, Ga., Daniel and Clay Ridge of Rock Hill, Cody Rice of Honea Path and Christi Moschgat (Carl) of Honea Path, five great-grandchildren; Kaleb Gambrell, Eli Strickland, Sydney Strickland, Kassidy Moschgat and Keeley Rice, son-in-law; Carey Ridge of Rock Hill. She was predeceased by a son; John Gary Rice and two daughters; Sandra Faye Young and Glenda Ridge.

Graveside services will be held at 3 PM Wednesday at the Garden Of Memories with Rev. Mike Moody officiating.
