Honea Path – Ruby Ann Rickman Balkcom, 80, wife of Robert Hansel “Buzz” Balkcom, Sr., of 21 McKay Rd., died Friday January 24, 2014 at AnMed Health Center.
Born in Rome, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Perry Richard and Lois Vera Martin Rickman. She was a member of Honea Path First Baptist Church, and was retired from Honea Path Middle School, where she worked as the school secretary.
Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are two sons: Robert H. Balkcom Jr. (Cathy) of Lawrenceville, Ga., and John R. Balkcom (Leann) of Land O Lakes, Fl.; and four grandchildren: Melody, Marissa, Chandler, and Sara.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: William “Billy” Rickman, and Perry Richard “Junior” Rickman Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, January 26th at Honea Path First Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Beaver officiating. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories.
