James Reid Milford
Ware Shoals – James Reid Milford, 99, of 18 West Main Street, widower of Ruth Greer Milford died Tuesday at his home.
Born in Iva, SC, he was a son of the late William Leo and Margie Jane Patterson Milford. He was a retired supervisor with Sprint Telephone, was a member of Ware Shoals First Baptist Church, the Ware Shoals Masonic Lodge #306, a Graduate of Clemson Military College and was formerly an electrician with Riegel Textile Corporation. He was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran.
Surviving are, one son; Charles D. Milford of Greenwood, one daughter; Delma M. Strickland and husband Grady (PeeWee) Strickland of Ware Shoals, three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was the last member of his immediate family and was predeceased by one brother and three sisters.
Funeral services will be 4 PM Thursday at Ware Shoals First Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Strickland and Rev. Leon Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 3-4 PM Thursday prior to the service at the church. The family is at the home of his daughter; Delma Strickland, 6 Green Acres Blvd., Ware Shoals.
