Ware Shoals – Horace Glenn Madden, 89, widower of Ruby Griffin Madden, of 11872 Hwy 25 Business, died Tuesday, August 13, 2013.
Born in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Leland Glenn and Rannie Lollis Madden. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, Brewerton Lodge # 183 A.F.M., and the Quarter Century Club. He was a US Air Force veteran of WWII and retired from Riegel Textile Corp. He was twice married, first to the late Ruth Gunnells Madden.
Surviving are: a son, Rickey Madden of Simpsonville, three step daughters, Carolyn Houser of Lincolnton, NC, , Marlene and Mickie Long, both of Hickory Tavern, a brother, Truman Madden of Mauldin, and a sister, Christine Cothran of Ware Shoals.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a step-son, six brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 16, 2013, at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Ostrom officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in the church cemetery.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Parker-White Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that memorials be made to Ark Hospice, 101 Grace Dr., Easley, SC 29640. Parker-White-Pruitt Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
