Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Jodie and Minnie Stone Bagwell. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and retired from Chiquola Mills.

Surviving are: three sons, Jodie Vaughn and wife Susie, Larry Vaughn and wife Glenda, Roger Vaughn and wife Cindy, all of Honea Path, two daughters, Doris Fleming and husband Randy of Honea Path, and Linda Powell of Belton, a daughter-in-law, Shirley Vaughn of Donalds, two sisters, Ellie Simpson of Elberton, and Mary Jordan and husband Vernon of Abbeville, nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Ralph Vaughn, a daughter, Nellie Ruth Vaughn,  three brothers, two sisters, and a great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Archie Sharpe and Rev. Paul Cooper officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories.
