Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Ansel and Gertrude Ashley Branyon. He was a member of Honea Path Pentecostal Holiness Church, and retired from Belton Industries. He and Becky were married for 56 years.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are: one brother, Dennis Branyon of Honea Path and wife Mary; one sister, Brenda Whittle and husband Tommy of Honea Path; and two grandchildren, Lindsey Blair Branyon and Matthew Douglas Branyon, both of Anderson.

He was predeceased by one son: Raymond Boyce “Pearhead” Branyon; and one brother: Gary Branyon.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Thursday at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ted Coody, Rev. Hayes Riddle, Rev. Charles Brown, and Rev. Sherril Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery.

The family is at the home and will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at Pruitt Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate at 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
